I’m self-employed and available for contract or freelance work. Here is what I can do for you:

• Custom software development: As a software engineer, I can develop custom applications. Either as part of a team or by myself as necessary - with a strong preference for remote work. You get the most bang for the buck if you hire me to work with Java, Python, Lua or SQL. I can pick up other languages too and would be interested in opportunities to use Haskell, Zig or Rust, but I’d need to ramp up on those first. Take a look at my projects or visit my Codeberg or Github profiles to get an impression of my skills. My main background is with backend services and distributed systems.

• System administration: I can help you get your services deployed:

  • On virtual servers managed using Ansible on hosting services like Hetzner. Including monitoring (Prometheus) and dashboards (Grafana)
  • On Kubernetes
  • On other PaaS options

  Note that while I can do the setup, I cannot provide 24/7 support.

• Code reviews: If you’d like me to review your code, I’ll be happy to do so. I’ll look for issues related to coupling, encapsulation, readability, maintainability and performance.

• Sparring: If you want to meet to discuss various topics - like software design and architecture, development processes or want to improve your skills in areas like test driven development or API design - we can setup a meeting for a pairing session.

I usually charge by the hour.
